Built by Baldwin in September of 1922 as MILW 8322, it was later renumbered MILW 422 in 1938 as seen here after being renumbered. The loco lasted until being scrapped in September of 1952 after 30 years of service. Specs - class L-2b, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,770 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.

Parked in a Kansas City, KS yard is Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 Mikado #408. Built by Baldwin in September of 1922 as MILW #8308, it was later renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW #408. The scrappers took the loco in September of 1951 after nearly 31 years of service. Bjuilt by Baldwin in September of 1922 as MILW #8313, it was later renumbered MILW 413 in June of 1938. The loco was sent to the scrapper's torch after nearly 30 years of service in June of .1952 Specs - class L-2b, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,770 lb, tractive effort of 54,723 lb. With only 6 months left before it would be retired, Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 Mikado #424 still goes about its work at the Janesville WI yard. Built by Baldwin in September of 1922 as MILW 8324, it was subsequently renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW 424. The scrapper's torch ended the service record of 32 years in November of 1954. Long before a Fairbanks Morse diesle was assigned the number MILW 416, this 2-8-2 Mikado had the nonor of wearing it. Built by Baldwin in September of 1922 as MILW #8316, it was later renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW 416. Unfortunately when this photo was taken, the loco only had a few months left before retirement. The loco was eventually scrapped in December of 1954 after 32 years of service.
