Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in New Egypt, New Jersey, in June of 1965. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "GE 44T #9999, 390-hp, at New Egypt, N.J." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9999, a GS-4 switcher built by General Electric as number "9353" in May of 1949, rated at 390 horsepower, and renumbered "9999" in 1967 when leased to the Union Transportation Company in New Egypt. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-2).

PRR 9999 trundles northbound across the Lahaway Creek trestle on the Union Transportation Company. Starting life as 9353, the GE 44 tonner was renumbered under Penn Central management but retained its Pennsy markings.

Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken on Fort Dix, New Jersey, on 27 October 1967. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9999, a GS-4 switcher built by General Electric as number "9353" in May of 1949, rated at 390 horsepower, and renumbered "9999" before it was leased to the Union Transportation Company of New Egypt, New Jersey.
