| Here is a postal card that could be entitled "Action At Paxinos." No Postmark. Caption On Reverse: "Turn the calendar back to November 8, 1954, go down the riverbank and watch Pennsy's train S-390 go by. Behind Baldwin-built Decapod 4644 are 119 cars and two more Decapods, numbers 4629 and 4639, pushing on the rear. Typical Pennsy action at Paxinos, Pa. Photos by Robert M. Malinowski." All three locomotives were produced by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as I-1S (2-10-0) "Decapods" in October of 1923. #4644 was rebuilt as an I-1SA in January of 1943 and retired in February of 1960. #4629 was rebuilt as an I-1SA in August of 1935 and retired in January of 1956. And #4639 was rebuilt as an I-1SA in December of 1938 and retired in February of 1956. The road number of the N-5 cabin car is not recorded. |
