PRR 7257, EFS-17M, c. 1966
Mann. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Perdix, Pennsylvania, c. 1966. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7257 and #7084. Both are EFS-17M road switchers built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7257 was constructed in November of 1959, while #7084 was built in November of 1956. They're pulling a fully-loaded mineral train from the coal mines of Western Pennsylvania to energy-hungry Eastern markets. (Gift from Brad Mann.)
