Conrail 8214 is on WPNB-41 at Garfield, NJ 4/1996. For those unfamiliar with Conrail symbols, WPNB-41 is a Wayfreight, Philadelphia Division originating at North Bergen. NB41 had been the Bergen County Line wayfreight for quite some years, Originally it was WJNB-41 before Conrail consolidated the Jersey Division into the Philadelpia Division. I believe that this local was called the Rutherford Drill under the Erie Lackawanna. As a kid, I remember the NB 41 being assigned an Ex-Lehigh Valley caboose that had J1 is on drugs scrawled in yellow weatherproof chalk on its side, LOL!! |
