Pullman originally built this car at Calumet City, IL in June and July of 1923. The car was originally named the "Mountain View". n 1937, the Mountain View returned to Calumet for rebuilding into a solarium observation car with an 8 section buffet lounge observation. It was renamed "Kitchi Gammi Club". It worked the NKP and eventually sold to them in 1957 as a business car. After merged into the NW roster, it went down to the lowly MOW kitchen/bunk car NW 521417. Eventually sitting on a scrap pile in Roanoke, the Virginia Rail Investment Corporation saved it from the scrapper's torch and reborn in 2007 as seen here. |
