Texas & Pacific P-1r class 4-6-2 704 was on a train at the railroad’s station in New Orleans. The locomotive had been built by Baldwin (51666) in April 1919 as P-1 class 604 but was quickly renumbered 704. It was upgraded with roller bearings and other improvements in August 1944 as a P-1r class, and it was retired in March 1952. (approximate date of photo) |
