Northbound Empty Coal Train With SP 303 Leading  Contributor's Pick!
I chased SP 303 Leading UP Train CMSEY9 06 from Poplar Bluff to here. You can see the engineer waving as he gave a couple friendly honks. The engine had alternating ditch lights. I was tickled to see a Big SP GE leading a coal train that does not frequent this line. There are now only 94 Unpatched SP's left. The train was 000 loads 106 empty, 02544 tons, and 05724 feet. The power was SP 303, UP 6874, and DPU UP 6286. It passed Ives at 13:28. This was renumbered to UP 6216 on 10-26-07.

Pat Scott General That's just spiffy. Weren't you lucky they ran the train your way this time. 10/7/2006 6:09:16 PM
Pat Scott General And to think, I was greatly disappointed when SP started using these on their coal trains, replacing the rainbow of six axle EMDs that used to tug their coal trains. 10/7/2006 9:33:40 PM
Gregg Pullano General Do these AC44s still have the SP horns? Or has UP replaced them? 10/7/2006 9:40:51 PM
Ian Johnstone General I think they replaced them but I'm not really sure. 11/28/2008 12:17:33 PM
Ian Johnstone General The SP horns were replaced I think Gregg. 11/28/2008 1:59:28 PM
