The Hohenzollerische Landesbahn (HzL) is one of the largest non-federally owned railway companies in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The Stadler Regio-Shuttle RS1 (Class 650) is the first widely used, new-generation, diesel railcar in Germany. Two independent diesel-mechanical drive units, e.g. from MAN, run either on diesel fuel or Biodiesel from rape seed oil, each drive both axles on one of the two bogies. |
