"Horseshoe Curve," Page 42, 2004         
Here is a portion of a two-page spread included in a 24-page cover article entitled "Horseshoe Curve: 150 Years." It was published originally in the August 2004 issue of "Trains" magazine, pages 42-43. Partial Caption: "Pinstriped E-8 5704 leans into Horseshoe Curve with an eastward train of heavyweight coaches and Pullman cars in 1957. Photo by Thomas J. McNamara." Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5704 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5704 was constructed in September of 1952.
