The merger that created the Illinois Central Gulf was eight years behind, but there was a lot of equipment that had not been repainted. GM&O power ran on the ICG well into the 1980s. This pair of GM&O box cars was eastbound at Bayview, still innocent of any sign of the 1972 merger. |
