WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Harrisburg to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here is the long-disused PRR Ice Planu near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. In the good ol' days when refrigerator cars used ice ~ instead of gasoline ~ to keep their cargos cold, eastbound produce trains would stop here to replenish before continuing on to their East Coast destinations. |
