Fox Lake Station
Fox Lake is the oldest settlement in Dodge County, dating to 1838. This old Milwaukee Road station dates to 1884. Fox Lake was served by a branch off the La Crosse and Milwaukee line that went from North Milwaukee to La Crosse via Portage from Fox Lake junction, just railroad west of Beaver Dam. The Fox Lake branch was a reverse loop which allowed the trains to town to return to the junction without a reverse or run around move. This old station is on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as the local museum.
