Allen Jenkins	General	It is the shed where Fairmont Speeders were stored. The boards run right up to the rails. Two men moved the little car up to the tracks, pulled long polls stored on the sides of the way-car and turned it as they aligned it on the track, and way they go! The Fairmont Speeder can run well in both directions, in fact the two-stroke gas engine will run backwards. They were replaced by rail-wheels attached to highway vehicles.	12/29/2011 5:44:39 AM

Bernie Feltman	General	David, this would make more sense to you if you could see the building as it looked in when it was in use. Most of these had sliding doors that were locked with huge company style locks. If this were like most of the Coast Line's others, there was a motor car in one side and a little trailer in the other side. Depending on the scope of the task, the trailer could be towed to a job side to move material back and forth from the work location to this building or other storage area. These actually began to be retired when section crews began to be replaced by crews with much larger coverage areas. Saw this on the Bay Lines A&G line just past the wye in Grimes. Ive never noticed it before. Dont know what it was for, or could it be from the ACL, or SCL days.
