AMTK 691 (Ex UP)
Amtrak power car 691 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1942 as a 48-seat coach for the Union Pacific, although there is disagreement between Bob Wayner and David Randal if its original number was UP 5331 or 5364. This was one of 30 cars in UP series 5331-5345 and 5351-5365, three of which were purchased by Auto-Liner Corp. in 1970 and remodeled into automobile carries 300-302 with the addition of large end doors. Auto-Liner converted them into Amtrak power cars 1297-1299 in 1975, and they were renumbered 690-692 in 1977.
