| Delivered to Baltimore & Ohio as GP40 4006 in August 1971 becoming B&O 6581 in 1986 then CSX 6581 in 1987. On January 13, 1993 CSX retired this GP40 and sold it to National Railway Equipment on March 10, 1993 then sold to KCS for rebuilding into the GP40-3 program. Reportedly this unit was rebuilt by VMV in June 1994 but in this photo 4746 has yet to be rebuilt or repainted, this unit would later be renumbered 2852 and remains active on the KCS roster as of 2014. |
