Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the western end of the yards in Enola, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6806, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1926 and retired in September of 1952 after 26 years of faithful service. A small portion of the left-to-right flowing Susquehanna River is visible in the background. John S. Fisher Collection; #11 of 13. |
