High water on the Hannibal Sub has slowed things down to the point that three trains have the main tied up at Elsberry on a Saturday morning. An EB empty coal train holds the main while a WB freight led by 2010 idles without a crew. An empty grain train sits shut down on the main a mile south of town. Relief crews arrived for the eastbounds at 8AM and both will start moving again by 9. This one though musn't have been too critical- it would be about 9PM before the dispatcher talked to him about entering St Louis. |
