end of the old Water Valley main
This is the end of the old main line to Water Valley at the north end of North Yard. The track keeps going about 15 carlenghts past this switch but the track is out of service past the crossing (Moose Lodge Road) that you can barely see. They left enough room to come out with 2 engines over this switch. This was the original main line to Water Valley. This line got severed here in 1950 when Grenada Lake was being built. They built a new line to the north of the lake.

Switchman Images General And I understand that even the "new line" isn't being used these days? Is any of the old Weyerhauser / Mississippi & Skuna Valley power still around up there? 11/18/2010 9:59:22 PM
Joe Marascalco General The line between WV JCT and Bruce has been out of service since the spring of 2008. Both of the M&SV's two engines are still at Bruce. 11/20/2010 2:49:54 AM
