Maintenance-of-Way Equipment, 1960
Title:  Maintenance-of-Way Equipment, 1960
Description:  Good Day. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad property in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1960. Shown here (L to R) are PRR Snow Plow #497795 (built by the Russell Snow Plow Company of Ridgeway, Pennsylvania) and PRR Grader-Spreader Unit #497400 (built by Jordan). This photo was taken near the intersection of Allegheny and Blair Streets. The PRR's Samuel Rea Shop is visible in the distance, while the track nearest to the camera provides rail access to the Berwind-White Railroad Car Shops; two of their USRA-era 55-ton hopper cars are also pictured. #4 of 12.

Also visible is the AIRCO plant, which produced great quantities of oxygen used in various operations at the Samuel Rea Shop. The access track to the Berwind-White Railroad Car Shops is visible at the lower right. This photo was taken near the intersection of Allegheny and Blair Streets.
