Description:
Nice shot by J.R. Quinn of the fireman at his window in the idling 2-8-0 Consolidation built by Alco-Schenectady in 1910. After a 41 year service record, this loco was retired in August of 1951. Specs - serial #48013, class G-34b, 63" drivers, 195 psi boiler pressure, 22.5x30" cylinders, engine weight of 213,000 lb. No date or location was given for the photo.

Description:
This G-34C class Alco-Schenectady Consolidation was built in 1913. It had 63" drivers and developed 195 psi boiler pressure for its 22.5"x30" cylinders. It could apply a tractive effort of 39,958 lb. Here it sits in the Rutland yard waiting for new orders. The day in May, 1938 is approximate. No photographer listed for this one.

Description:
Here is an excellent example of a 1913 Alco-Schenectady built Consolidation type locomotive, a G-34c class member. It had the nicely white-walled 63" drivers and developed a boiler pressure of 195 psi to feed to its 22.5"x30" cylinders. The engine weight hovered at 214, 000 lb and it could apply a tractive effort of 39,958 lb. No photographer listed for this photo.
