Description:  Penn-Central Railroad SW1200 9015 at Hagerstown, Maryland on an unknown day in July 1969, Kodachrome by Gib Allbach, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 9015 was built in November 1957 ( c/n 24147 ) as PRR 7915, later PRR 9015, then PC 9015, then CR 9334, scrapped at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania on an unknown date.

Description:  Everyday. Here is an original telephoto view that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, in March of 1972. Shown here (L to R) are Penn Central Railroad engines #9035, #9020, and #2436. #9035 is an SW7 built by GM-EMD in May of 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower; its original PRR number was "9365." #9020 is a SW1200 built by GM-EMD in November of 1957 and rated at 1,200 horsepower; its original PRR number was "7920." #2436 is a C425 built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower; its original PRR number was the same. Visible in the background (L to R) are Bald Hill and the Samuel Rea Shop; also visible on the right are two box cars marshalled for reconditioning in the Shop. Shown here is PC engine #9020, an SW-1200 built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division in 1957 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. It is shifting a gondola car at the eastern end of the Westbound Hump at the base of Bald Hill, next to US Route 22. Also visible are the PC's Samuel Rea Shop on the left and the town of Hollidaysburg on the right.

In this artsy-shot using the rear-view mirror of my Datsun 240-Z, #9020 is at the very top of the Westbound Hump. In olden days, there was a two-storey Hump Tower located there.
