Description:  Due to running late, 1522 really puts on the steam as she blasts through Eureka at 60 mph(full track speed). This was quite a fitting end to her career as this was her last run before retirement again. scanned from a slide

Title:  SLSF 1522
Description:  1522 stomps up Kirkwood Hill on the last run of her career as an excursion locomotive. She was running so fast that I got a shot in Eureka and barely got this shot with seconds to spare after running from my car. You had to be there to believe how much noise she was putting out! It was pretty deafening! slide scan

Scullin Disc Driver

SLSF 1522 - Baldwin 4-8-2
Title:  SLSF 1522 - Baldwin 4-8-2
Description:  Baldwin 4-8-2 Mountain, built in 1926 for the Frisco. Engine was restored between 1985 and 1988 and operated in excursion service until September 2002. One of the reasons I came out to the MOT was to spend a little time with 1522, being that this is 10 years to the month to the last time it had a a fire in the box. It sure is hard to believe that in a short 4 years, she will have been idle in her second retirement for the same amount of time that she was active in her second career.
