Description:  2.19.2025 Crozet, VA. Rescue in action! BB 6 and 16 race down from Afton Mountain to rescue a disabled westbound Amtrak Cardinal. Somewhere between Culpeer and Charlottesville Amtrak locomotive #137 began developing mechanical problems. It made it as far as East Crozet before alerting the Buckingham Branch dispatcher that they could go no further. These locomotives were called back down the mountain to provide power for #51 to Clifton Forge.

Description:  The D-7 was the first of four GP40's bought new by the DeQueen & Eastern / Texas Oklahoma & Eastern, and was photographed outside the DQ&E shop at DeQueen, Arkansas. The two railroads subsequently bought three new GP40-2's and three ex-Conrail GP40's. The D-7 was confirmed as frame no. 5704-1 and serial no. 31855, built in August 1966.
