Description:
Typical freight movement by Delaware and Hudson Alco RS2 #4003 at an unidentified location in New York, Built by Alco in December of 1946 (serial #75115), it was one of a few RS2 that was equipped with a steam generator for use on passenger service. It was retired in May of 1961. Somehow this loco was spotted in a shop area at Rock Island, IL, in March 25, 2017. Anyone know of its disposition since? Did it become an IAIS loco? No location, date or photographer was listed for the photo.
