WC 3014
Title:  WC 3014
Description:  WC 3014 dutifully pulls the daily local north during a late March morning blizzard. If not for the faded lettering on the side of the venerable GP40, one might mistake this image as one from the WC's heyday in the 90s. Faded or not, WC power is becoming more and more rare these days, and maroon and gold are a welcome change to embarassed zebras and dirty skunks

IC 3110 on Plymouth Sub train
Title:  IC 3110 on Plymouth Sub train
Description:  After spotting a couple of tankers just north of Mill Rd, the crew of the daily (weekday) Plymouth sub train eases their consist over a small hill. She may not look it, but the 3110 is pulling pretty hard. At 23 cars (mostly scrap metal loads), I wonder if this unit is a good puller. She seemed to be strugging most of the time that I chased this crew.

IC 3110 on Plymouth Sub
Title:  IC 3110 on Plymouth Sub
Description:  IC 3110 and crew slowly pace the Ozaukee County Interurban trail on their way north to Saukville. The interurban is so named because it uses the roadbed of the former TMERL. It's nice to have a paved bike path, but it would be even nicer to have an interurban! Of course, the folks of Ozaukee Co. would have to give up their cars first, but that probably won't happen...

CN 9543
Title:  CN 9543
Description:  There's no mistaking the location of this photo! Things were looking swell for the crew of this Saturday extra, and for my chase on this sunny afternoon... but all good things must end. About 100 feet south of this location, the train came to a screeching hault and alarm bells could be heard coming from the cab. It was only the beginning of a delay that took the better part of an hour and (unfortunately) blocked all traffic through downtown Saukville. Children on bicycles, police officers, and, yes, even a wedding party showed up to see what all of the fuss was. The crew scrambled to find the problem with the conductor bleeding air out of cars and the hogger opening up engine access doors. "Why can't we ever do what the hell we've got to do and get out of here?" came across the scanner from a very frustrated crew on what would ordinarily be their day off!
