Album Info:
Edaville #11, a 2-foot gauge 0-4-0 Porter steam locomotive was a featured attraction at the 2017 Amherst Railway Society's Model Train show at the Eastern States Exposition Fairgrounds in West Springfield, MA. It operated back and forth on about 100 feet of panel track, and visitors were allowed to climb up into the cab and pull the whistle and bell cords. Edaville 11 was built by H.K. Porter in 1925 to be a plant switcher for the Raritan Copper Works in Perth Amboy, NJ. It was subsequently sold to Ellis D. Atwood for his Edaville railway park in South Carver, MA where it was on static display for many years. In 2014 the locomotive was restored to operation by the Boothbay Railway Village in Maine, and it now operates on the latest incarnation of the Edaville Railroad, which is a Thomas the tank engine-themed amusement park. According to Wes Barris' database, EV 11 was originally built to 30" gage, and was originally a saddle tank locomotive.
