Well, this is different |
Description: |
An interesting thing showed up at the nearly complete SunRail Sand Lake Road station today: a set of two DMUs and a passenger coach labeled as the FDOT's 'DMU Demonstration Project'. They were very tall and quite interesting. Looked cushy inside! The middle car is apparently a Tri-Rail unit. Also of note: They put out quite a bit of smoke upon acceleration, haha. |

This unit was recently transferred from a Canadian commuter operation. Here's hoping she stays in this paint for awhile, I like it! Taken from the cupola of the TE&G's caboose on the Orange Blossom Cannonball steam train. |

Amtrak's PO97, the northbound Silver Meteor, accelerates through Taft Yard, the Florida heat already creating distowtion effects in my shots. The old Howard Fertilizer elevator is in the background. |

The Espee Lives! |
Description: |
This Southern Pacific AC4400CW has somehow managed to escape the paint booths for 20 years. She is still wearing her original coat of SP gray and red. Though her Bloody Nose has since faded to pink, shb is unpatched, and other than her reflective yellow frame stripe, bears no markings alluding to UP ownership. 343 is one of five AC4400CWs on UP still in SP paint, at the time of this photograph. |

Admiration |
Description: |
Railfans gather to photograph and appreciate Southern Pacific AC4400CW number 343 for what she is: A living embodiment of a fallen flag, still carrying the torch for her original owners. She had quite the entourage coming and going, throughout the day! |
